Contrapposto | Bronze | 17 x 10 x 6 in | 43 x 25 x 15 cm
Contrapposto is simply a counter-position where the shoulders and arms are in a twist, off-axis, from the hips. I positioned this female torso on a tall plinth, as a tribute to one of the greatest sculptors of the last century, Henry Moore. I love the windows he creates through the figure, twisted, perched, the rise and fall of the curves, the space in between the forms. Simply, the beauty of sculpture is the way that form meets space in an eloquent way.
