It's the first time we have had a dog in our home and she isn't just a pet, she is a family member. For my son, she is a sibling, a play mate, a warm hug, a furry friend that depends on him but can be empathetic when he doesn't feel so strong. My son will never feel lonely while she is near. As he gives her treats, I am beginning to wonder if it's truly our dog who 'treats' us - just being part of our family.
