Monaco Nghi Son - Vietnam, 2023
Monaco Nghi Son comissioned by Anh Phat Corp. as they undertook the construction of a new city named Monaco Nghi Son. They were building roads, bridges, schools, housing, factories, golf courses, restaurants and hotels. The Vietnamese knew that a beautiful city would also need public art. They commissioned three of my electric bronze sculptures to put in various places among these grounds. These are unique works because I recreated them with Vietnamese faces. During Covid, the Monaco Nghi Son construction halted for almost a year, but by 2024 they had finally finished and the artwork is installed and paired with thoughtfully designed public spaces to symbolize Fire.
